Network Operating Center to monitor Sigfox Network in ANZ

Thinxtra announced today that the Sigfox network is now covering 62% of the population in Australia and 73% of the population in New Zealand, and is committed to covering 95% of the population of both countries before the end of 2017.

To enable such rapid and record breaking deployment, Thinxtra had partnered with infrastructure and network experts in ANZ, having previously signed a strategic partnership with Kordia in New Zealand and also now signing partnerships with TransGrid and BAI Communications to gain access to towers and rooftops. Thinxtra has also launched a Smart Councils Program to provide 50 Councils in Australia with free coverage to further increase network penetration into regional and rural areas.

To support the rapid infrastructure deployment, Thinxtra has built a Network Operating Center in its headquarters in Sydney to display and monitor all the base stations installed in both countries. This is part of Thinxtra’s commitment to provide strong SLAs (Service Level Agreements) of 98.5% up time of connectivity.
